ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
HOWA/ TIKKA BOLT KNOB
Step 1: Confirm that your firearm is unloaded and remove the bolt from the rifle. This product only works on Tikka and Howa rifles that have a bored hole in the end of the bolt knob. Confirm that this hole exists and is free of any obstructions.
Step 2: Disassemble all of the components of the bolt knob using a ¼” Allen wrench and a ⅛” Allen wrench.
Step 3: Slide the Steel Expansion Collet into the bored hole in the Factory Bolt Knob.
Step 4: Install the Tapered Locking Screw into the Steel Expansion Collet using a ⅛” Allen Key. Use a 10mm open ended wrench on the Steel Expansion Collet to prevent the collet from rotating in the hole (use care to not damage the threads on the collet during this operation). Tighten the tapered set screw to a maximum of 35 inch pounds.
Step 5: Thread the Exterra Bolt Knob onto the Steel Expansion Collet (use care not to cross thread the knob). Hand tighten as much as possible. There should be minimal gap between the Exterra Bolt Knob and the Factory Bolt Knob.
Step 6: Install the Threaded Lock into the Exterra Bolt Knob, using care not to crossthread. Tighten securely with a ¼” Allen key. Overtightening will cause the Collet to slip in the Factory Bolt Knob.
